SPNI Works to Preserve a National Treasure

Mitzpe Ramon, located in the southern Negev, is a small desert town that near the edge of a unique geological phenomenon, the Ramon Crater. This crater was caused by thousands of years of erosion from water and wind. Makhtesh Ramon, as the crater is called in Hebrew, draws thousands of tourists a year to view this special landscape and the spectacular vistas.
