SPNI Survey Finds Otters Critically Endangered

Israel's otter population critically endangered

A survey published with the input of research from the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel found that the otter population throughout the country is dwindling, and in most places endangered.

The survey involved data from more than 100 sites throughout Israel's northern region. Even in areas where the population remains relatively stable, there has been a decline since last year.

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel will work to preserve open spaces and the habitats that otters need to survive.
