Greens Riled by Proposal to Shelve National Master Plans

Currently there is a proposal to amend the Planning and Building Law to make the national master plans non binding guidelines instead of a set of required rules.  This has angered many Environmental groups throughout Israel.  There has yet to be a government agency to claim responsibility for the proposal.  Meanwhile the Interior Ministry’s planning administration is attempting to consolidate all of the master plans.  SPNI’s chief environmental planner, Itamar Ben-David, states that these proposed changes “will hurt the ordinary citizen in every area of life”
